​Being a Notary Public is an HONOR bestowed by the State. Being a Notary Public is a Public Trust. It is a profession that requires the utmost in sincerity and honor. It is not just "stamping" a document. It is telling the WORLD that the document can be trusted as being true and trustworthy.

There are many people who aspire to be a Notary Public. They take VERY difficult courses, study for a Long Time, take a very difficult test to prove their understanding of the subject matter.........

Lawyers are Not these people..........

If someone has graduated from law school in Louisiana and passes the bar exam, he or she is entitled to become a Notary Public. Law School doesn't teach us the nuances of being a Notary Public. It does teach us how to find and learn these nuances..............     Still, you do this long enough, you learn stuff. And Yes, there are a LOT of things about creating binding and proper documents that lawyers can do better than your average Notary Pubic.
